When a person is Baptized, they are typically given a Baptismal name (usually a saint’s name), and it is typically part of the person’s legal name (for example, my middle name is my Baptismal name)
When a person is Confirmed, they usually take a Confirmation name as well. When I was confirmed, we were encouraged to use our Baptismal names as our Confirmation name.
My question is, are a person’s Baptismal name and/or Confirmation name recorded by the Church somewhere (like the diocese in which their Sacramental records are)?
