Baptismal Clothes for Baby Boy

My younger brother and his wife are talking about setting a date for their son’s baptism. Baby will be about a month old. My sister in law wants to dress baby is a christening gown. My brother thinks it’s a little odd because he’s a boy. I suppose it doesn’t matter too much either way. There are christening gowns specifically for boys so obviously people are using them. Anyone use a christening gown for their baby boys?

Both our boys and to be honest our daughter as well as my SIL’s two girls all in the same re-made family gown.

We are very traditional about gender differences, clothing modesty etc but for a small baby it’s just a way of dressing them in something special for the occasion.

I think that’s what she said: no boys wore tiny suits. Meaning everyone wore gowns.

My DH is in his late 40s and he was baptized in a knit onesie. It had long sleeves and legs. But no gown.
