I heard a friend of my whives who is Baptist/ non-denominational say she “missionary dates” to convert men to her Christian beliefs

this sounds dangerous on her part that someone might be lieing to her just for the hope of something else. And it seems to me if her true goal was to covert souls it would be better if she found a husband who was already a strong Christian and then they worked together

I will be sending her this link so if people could give there constructive comments especially if you are a convert who used to think this way

God bless

Uh, how do I say this gently. It sounds to me like she is a) being told to do such things or b) she is putting herself out there in maybe a sexual way (I dont know her so I cannot or will not judge her) in order to get men to like her and her beliefs. If she is willing to give herself to men for the purpose of conversion, men may be like “wow, what a giving woman she is” I dont know but I think having a husband with strong beliefs would be better than many men. We will pray for her.

I once dated a girl that fits this description. She insisted that we put our religious differences aside at first. After a few weeks when the sexual tension began to increase, she informed me that I was going to hell if I didn’t convert to her church and insisted that I have a “bible study” with the man she was renting a room from.

She wasn’t Baptist, though. She belonged to a Church of Christ offshoot.

She dates men for the sole purpose of trying to convert them, is this correct? I have heard of that.

I think it’s a terrible way to misrepresent yourself and your faith- what does it say about Christians that they cannot even be forthcoming about their intentions in relationship with others? How real is a conversion effected only because of trying to please someone, and not because one really believes what they are converting to?

It would be hilarious of one of these missionary daters got ahold of someone like Tim Staples or Jimmy Akin!
