Bibliolatry. KJV-only folks often fall into this problem. My favorite story is that of a self “educated” preacher who didn’t need anything but his KJV preaching on the evil of women’s updos and high hairstyles. He used Matthew 24:7 “Top knot, come down!”Praying for anyone who is decieved by these booklets of lies. This pastor has clearly made an idol of the KJV bible translation.
Once a student enters a school they loose most of their rights.I do believe that our courts have found that students handing out tracts at school is not a part of “state establishing a religion” (in contrast to school prayer). The courts have not found student-initiated religious activity to be unconstitutional. So this would be within the
free speech rights of these students.
A remember a while back there was a Catholic youth who started a thread because the school was telling him he could not have his rosary at school and I told him the same thing.
Someone who is more up on this can correct me, but I think this is the case.
An excellent response!!I love my Bishop!! Well, of course I should and always have, but my love for him has exponentially increased because of this statement he has released. The statement has been released to local news stations as well.
Not all of this… pretty much he only said that he shouldn’t have handed out that specific tract. An excellent response!!
I saw on foxnews.com that the minister is starting his backpedaling on all of this.
Sigh Anyone have any advise or a suggestion on a good Catholic pamphlet or tract to hand out? I’m thinking “Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth”. I can’t physically hand them out myself (I’m in pretty poor health right now), but I would like to do my part in purchasing some for this church in Pigeon Forge to hand out if they wished to do so.Looking back, I don’t think it was the right tract to give out,” Hatcher told FoxNews.com. “I have some others that wouldn’t have been as offensive. But I will continue to spread the gospel — that’s what I’m called by Christ to do. I’m still going to hand out tracts, but not ‘The Death Cookie.’”
There are plenty of wacky Chick tracts to choose from. Not all of this… pretty much he only said that he shouldn’t have handed out that specific tract.

But it’s a start. If more pressure is placed on him, I am sure there will be more backpedaling. Not all of this… pretty much he only said that he shouldn’t have handed out that specific tract.
You might want to send a donation to the Church, and have it directed to a pamphlet of their choosing. Pillar of Fire is excellent material, but maybe the priest (or Bishop) has something else in mind.Sigh Anyone have any advise or a suggestion on a good Catholic pamphlet or tract to hand out?
