I understand that President Obama attended a Baptist Church for Easter Serivces. Well, I totally missed all this and so I googled information on which church, service and just generally information.

In the article it stated that This is the 5th time the President has been to church since he became President which in and of itself seemed remiss to me.

It then stated that, "The Obamas stayed at Shiloh for just over two hours but left before service was over, skipping the invitation to discipleship/altar prayer, achoral blessing and recessional, benediction, and organ postlude, according to the program.

So, what other part of the services did he attend? He was suppose to be there for a little over 2 hours so what goes on in the Baptist church service during those 2 hours. Seems to me he missed alot but was there fro quite sometime.

Thanks

Well, I think some kinds of Baptist services can be very long, and even take a good part of the day. My guess is he was there through to the end of the sermon, which would have been much longer than you are used to in a Catholic liturgy.

A lot of African-American church services last for several hours.

I would imagine that the President left early partially to avoid a mob scene in the narthex or parking lot after the church service.
