My stepbrother is currently overcoming his addictions and they agreed to house him there for 90 days. Part of being there is that he must go to chapel and Bible study. He is a Catholic convert and loves his faith. They told him he must have a Bible for study. There is also no outside influences allowed there such as television, radio, etc. Since he is wheelchair bound they did allow him his cell phone only to be used certain times a day. He is a few hours from me so I can’t visit him but talk to him on the phone. When he told me he needed a Bible I sent him the Catholic Bible with a copy of the Catechism. One of the men in his area wanted to read the Catechism and he is enjoying it. The people running the program told him he needed a new Bible instead of the one I gave him. He told them no because he is Catholic and that is his Bible. They let that go. They then started telling him what he believes is not biblical. I sent him Vol. 1 of The Faith of our Early Fathers since he has a lot of reading time. He has been talking to the other men there and another man (Baptist) started reading a book about Padre Pio. The people running the refuge are now telling all the men they must get rid of all Catholic materials because Catholics are not Christians. He has told them he believes Jesus is Lord and Savior and he is Christian but that doesn’t seem convincing for them. What can I tell him to help him make them understand he is a Christian?
