I am civilly married to a catholic man. Long story, but I am getting baptized at the Easter vigil, confirmed and first eucharist. My husband, who has not been confirmed, will be confirmed in May.
Why is it that I can take communion during the Easter vigil, however my husband can not until our wedding is convalidated?
Or, am I mistaken and have been told wrong.
Thank you

I’m not sure why the parish is approaching your situation in this manner. You and your husband should have your marriage convalidated prior to your baptism. The marriage can’t be valid for you and invalid for him. Because he’s a Catholic the marriage was required to be in the Catholic Church, the marriage needs to be validated in the Church. This should be done prior to your reception into the Church.
