A friend of mine thinks that Jesus had a Bar Mitzvah because He was Jewish. I think the practice of Bar Mitzvah began long after Jesus’ life, but I can’t prove it. Are there any scholars out there who know the answer or can direct me to some reliable Jewish sources of information?
 
From everything I have heard you are right - it was a later development. Regretfully I don’t have a reference to give you.
