I caught the last few remarks of a preacher on our local radio station (protestant denomination) and I thought this topic would make for an interesting discussion.

Jesus resisted three temptations which Satan attempted to use against Him in the desert.

The preacher said that these three temptations, were the same that Satan used against our first parents, Eve and Adam.

And they are three that Satan uses against all of us in our lives.

All comments are appreciated!

And he doesn’t like it when you point out the utter simplicity of logic, that it is impossible to defeat a foe that can create unlimited reinforcements. How he’s able to deceive so many of the angels in heaven is beyond comprehension, man’s short sighted enough, but to bother with Jesus himself? Just appalling.

Maybe he was refering to the Three Root Sins of Pride, Vanity and Sensuality

I have heard it claimed that Satan didn’t know exactly who Jesus was. He used the temptations to learn more about Him.

I’d like to know your source on that one. The more I study the enemies tactics, the more illogical it seems to be along the tactics he uses, and the more insane he seems to reveal himself to be. How can anybody, anything, itself, decide all of a sudden, it’s now more powerful then the source of it’s own creation, much less, even if it wasn’t, it’s like a video game where your opponent has unlimited lives, while you have only one, of course you lose, it’s simply not possible to win so why would you bother trying?

Regardless here as well, it’s just laughable that some superpower, thinking he can rule the universe, still is “learning?”, talk about limitations, blind leading the blind type of thing. Indeed it comes down to one thing, he’s stuck in our own “linear” timeline and this makes the playing field all together much easier to deal with, for our Lord is Not stuck within it. Thanks so much for his mercy, personally, his patience is far in excess then what any of us would have been, but surely, he still brings good out of it all in spite of the so called opposition.
