The thread is 4 years old.

I am sure that by now, the OP has found a bathing suit that works for her. 👍

Given the time of year, it’s not unreasonable to bump this, though. If anyone’s looking for options, currently, Lands’ End always has nice board shorts and skirts. I burn easily so I wear a rash guard from 11-3ish and then a tankini halter top with board short or a skirt.

I wear a reasonably modest one piece skirted swim-dress but cover it with a sun-dress unless I’m actually in the water or lying down sunbathing.

Dear Monica,

I am also a young adult (male) in my 20’s and I live on the beach. It is incredibility sad to see how little, most young women, respect their bodies. It is admirable that you want to uphold the sanctity of your body by not wearing bikini’s/promiscuous one pieces. Keep it up God is smiling down at you.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 " Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body."

One thing to keep in mind is body shape and activity level. I am, um, well-endowed, 😊 so if I wear a regular one-piece, I need to wear a sports bra underneath. I also need to go to department stores because places like JCrew don’t carry my size in bikini tops. For a while I just wore the sports bra and a standard bikini bottom because I’d grown out of all my bikini tops, but finally I was able to find a one-piece designed to suck you in (for people who want to look slimmer, I guess), and that provided a lot of support while still being fairly modest. I still wouldn’t play beach volleyball in it, though.

I support the tankini + skirt suggestion, if the tankini provides enough support for you. Feminine AND modest!
