If anyone is looking forward to watching this movie, brace yourself. It was really bad. Like really bad. I would definitely not recommend taking children under 13. T

I’ve written spoilers between the two lines of stars. Highlight that area to see why I thought the movie was bad.
  • Everyone seems really keen on blaming Superman for Earth being invaded, despite the fact that he saved the world.
  • Batman decides to straight up murder Superman, despite the fact that Batman has always been about no killing (even saving the Joker’s life numerous times in the comics).
  • Superman seems to be utterly incapable of explaining himself, and everything he does only makes sense in order to have people suspicious of him.
  • Lex Luthor, always the most methodical of villains, is played like he’s on cocaine.
  • Wonder Woman is an emotionless husk.
  • They tried to make Perry White into J. Jonah Jameson from the Spider-Man franchise, except not in a funny way.
  • In one of the few action pieces in the middle of the movie, the Batmobile has guns despite Batman’s no guns policy (since that’s how his parents were killed).
  • A few times Batman has either visions of a possible future, but then it makes it look like it might be a dream. It’s edited poorly.
  • Way too much about Luthor trying to get Senate approval to import Kryptonite.
  • The actual battle between Batman and Superman starts 2 hours into the movie.
  • Doomsday is practically a throw-away afterthought even though he’s one of Superman’s toughest rivals. He’s basically a big orc from the Lord of the Rings movies that can shoot eye lasers.
  • They killed Jimmy Olson and Mercy Graves (Luthor’s henchwoman) for no real reason.
  • Batman is putting together the Justice League based on those visions that don’t make sense anymore now that threats are gone.
  • A movie that’s over 2 and a half hours long should make you care about the characters.
 
If you still believe there are monsters under your bed ,
You might have a Problem …

If you watch the movie with the Understanding it’s pure Fiction Entertainment ,
The you should enjoy it ,
I thought the first half was a little boring ,
But the second half made up for it …
Heaps of Action … Watch the movie , worth a Watch

The title was extremely misleading. That was my main gripe against it

Of all the things the movie failed at, this is the most disappointing for me.

This was Wonder Woman’s FIRST time appearing on the big screen. And that was what we got? For crying out loud, we finally had the DC Big Three fighting together in a movie, that should have been an awesome and memorable moment! Instead it was just…emotionless and boring.

I hope in Wonder Woman’s stand-alone film she gets a better treatment by a director who actually understands her character. But right now…I’m not too thrilled with the direction the DC movies have been going. I’m sick of moody superheroes.
 
I heard there is a feud and of course search for more and more profits between DC and Marvel comics that is at the root of this picture.

But two good guys duking it out makes no sense to me. Is this the dawn of the age of the anti-hero?
 
What was disjointed about the plot? The pacing/editing? You have to keep up with the film and put the pieces together yourself. What I mean is that they aren’t walking you through the plot.
 
What exactly did they steal from The Dark Knight Returns?
Aside from some nods and a fight they stole nothing. And even in the fight they changed it (thankfully) to make Superman not a total government stooge. And Wonder Woman is getting her own film next year. This was just a peak at what we are going to get. I don’t see how it was bad at all
 
It’s absolutely an awful movie. Superman is an amoral (at best) buffoon who can’t decide why he does what he does, until he finally decides his only motivation is Lois. Batman is a ruthless, brutal killer. Wonder Woman is little more than a prop. Her main function is to serve as eye candy. The movie is full of anti-religious content, most of which is specifically aimed at Christianity. Zack Snyder is a horrible director whose obsession with making these movies dark in tone trumps any hope of worthwhile content. After this, if they never make another DC movie, I won’t be upset.

Are you serious? This is a realistic take on Superman where he isn’t the perfect role model. He has faults and he tries his best. I do not see how he is amoral. He can’t decide why he does what he does because it seems like the whole world is against him. He has an inner conflict. And this is a broken Batman pushed to his limits partially thanks to a dead Robin. During the climax of the fight with Superman he seems to have a change of heart. He didn’t kill Superman because he finally comes to his senses that if he did, he’d be no better than the people who took his parents. Also the quote “I won’t fail him in death” implies that he will find a new way. I also don’t see how the movie is anti relgious in any way.

I didn’t like the movie, but what bugged me the most was how they portrayed Lex Luthor. Maybe I’ve been consuming the wrong comic media, but I always had the impression that Lex Luthor was highly intelligent and complex individual. He isn’t necessarily evil, but somewhat grey - his actions are a means to an end. As someone on the first page pointed out, in this movie he’s a crude caricature of evil - more a mischievous pixie than an intricate genius.
 
I saw it this weekend with low expectations as it was directed by Zach Snyder a man who often doesn’t ‘get’ the source material of his superhero movies (cf. Watchmen) and despite this I thought it was pretty good! Not a feel-good movie by any means but I found it more philosophical and existentialist than action-oriented (though it did have intense action scenes). Wonder Woman came out looking quite the cool bruiser (in a good way).
