Here are some beautiful battery operated Catholic devotional candles which are great to use at home with children and they come with traditional prayers. You can always light real candles along side them:

Spyridon you appear to be deeply rude any way as well as deeply uncharitable. I will pray for you.

yes, no fake candles for the liturgy. That is certainly not right. However electric candles for home use and children is a great idea.

My current parish uses oil candles.
I like them because they always look tidy, stay the same height 24-7 and don
t easily blow out when the air conditioner is running.
I mentioned it at my previous parish and the priest became furious…he said that it has to be a beeswax candle with a real flame.
So, ultimately, it’s what the pastor will permit.
Real flame.
FTW
Christ is the Light of the World
Not Christ is the battery of the world. 🤣

Better, and safer than using your Samsung Galaxy 7 as a light source 🙂

Deeply rude and uncharitable?

What did I say that was so horrendous?

That’s an awfully judgmental thing to say…

Well some here are all about the real flame…

…just sayin’
Real flames can be a real hazard, but some folks think its worth the risk.

I remember when I was a kid, watching the altar staff using the big sticks to light the altar candles and using the cup to extinguish them in church. I guess I was easily impressed, but I appreciated the professionalism and expertise it took. The idea of people carrying around candles was something I didn’t see in person as a youth but it definitely does pose risks.
