Are you considering a religious vocation?

Dear all,

I’m part of Tigerlily Films, one of the UK’s most respected drama and documentary companies.

We’re working on a BBC documentary that explores the journeys of young women considering a religious life.

We have been given express permission by the Administrator of this site to post on the Vocations forum.

I’m looking to speak to women at all stages, from those just considering their calling, to those further along to becoming a novice. At the moment, it’s purely for research and will be dealt with entirely confidentially. I’m simply interested in hearing about people’s experiences and motivations and gain their advice to make the documentary as engaging and informative as possible.

If you’d like to know more, please do PM me. I’ll be happy to answer any queries.

For a bit more information on Tigerlily Films, currently in production is a documentary on the South African Street Child World Cup, and on nationwide release is Only When I Dance, a documentary about two Brazilian ballet dancers from the favelas. In addition, in 2008, we filmed at Tyburn Convent for “Midnight Pilgrims” shown on Channel 4. More information can be found at www.tigerlilyfilms.com

I look forward to hearing from you.

The was a BBC documentary made several years ago where five men entered ‘Worth Abbey’ (Benedictine), Sussex. The five were from a ‘colourful’ background.
The interesting point from my perspective is that they did not make much spiritual advancement in the several weeks at Worth. The Abbot decided that he would arrange for a visit to Parkminster some 20 miles away. The reaction from the five was tangible.

Go to You Tube and enter **'The Monastery 2005 Part 14 & 15 **… is particularly interesting for the reaction
