Just saw the video. They make Christians look bad in an unfair way. Not all Christians are holding up signs shouting “God hates gays,” like seriously? If this is there perception of what every Catholic would do if he/she saw a gay couple, then idk what to say, except: We love you (not your choice, but you as a person)

BBC The Social isn’t like watching the BBC.

It’s like a YouTube channel and is geared towards youth 18 and older. It’s a digital feed.

So it doesn’t have to be impartial.

And yes, by government mandate, the BBC is unbiased. We actually watch the BBC for most news over the crap in the US.

The Eucharist reference was a cheap shot. But then the liberal crowd can’t put forth a balanced presentation so cheap shots are what they take.

Sad thing is, from a Catholic perspective given that the Church dictates that homosexuality from a psychological genesis standpoint is largely unexplained, and homosexual people are due the charity and dignity all men and women are as they are made in the image and likeness of God, it actually could have been a decent video, until they veered off into their own prejudices, presenting them as mainstream thought and condemning anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

As long as you have an editorial staff with opinions and people creating programming with opinions, everything is going to have an inherent bias.

Your perspective shapes your vision.

Don’t you think that someone at BBC chooses what news is going to be shown and what news isn’t. That is bias.

That video doesn’t refer specifically to Catholicism, though, unless I’m missing something?

And yeah, BBC News is supposed to be impartial. But this isn’t BBC News, so that point is irrelevant.

It insults the Blessed Sacrament. Saying that the Blessed Sacrament tastes like cardboard and smells like hate is apalling. It insults God.

I think it is aimed at the Catholic Church as opposed to any Protestant group. The focus on the Blessed Sacrament highlights that.

According to the BBC, there would be anything wrong with inserting the Muslim equivalent of the above statement?

I agree. There are still a fair number of Catholics in Scotland. In the Archdiocese of Glasgow, 26.5% of the population is Catholic (as of 2015 - Metropolitan Archdiocese of Glasgow, Scotland)

The BBC by law is impartial and unbiased. Totally obvious when you watch it.

Are you secretly the British Ambassador to the United States?/

On paper but in practice not so much.
It’s a wonderful service especially BBC Radio 4 if you’re in the UK or the World Service elsewhere but it’s not flawless. The bias isn’t profound like in the US but it’s there. And former BBC employees admit such biases exist. Jump to 6:18 if no one wants to watch the entire 14 or so minute video to see what is meant when the BBC is accused of bias.

no; i am going to have to go ahead & agree with pup on this one

british media seem to be the most accurate, reliable and unbiased source of news

at least from what i see on twitter

Ah it’s not. I live in Britain and I call it Tory TV. The level of professionalism is getting lower by the day. I agree with Peter Hitchen’s views. It probably seems to you like this because American Journalism is terrible. We can still hope for something better.
