MSNBC has a slide show documenting the Haitian crisis since day one.

Among these ten slide shows are some pictures of Haitians beaten or killed for looting or stealing food. Some of these people are victims of the Haitian police and Haitian citizens

msnbc.msn.com/id/34937909/ns/news-picture_stories/displaymode/1247/?beginSlide=1

Picture 11 of day nine shows one poor man bloodied and beaten for stealing food.

I know it is difficult for me to fully understand exactly what is happening there but it just makes no sense that police and other Haitians would be cruising around and worrying about ownership of something as basic as food and water at this time when there are so many other important matters to tend to.

It just seems so cruel to beat someone that needs or wants to sort rubble for food and goods.

**Focus on the good! (start by watching anything but msnbc & their vile, hate spewing anchors like Matthews & Olberman !) Try watching the March for Life on EWTN ewtn.com/

I’ve watched EWTN intermittently throughout the day…I bet it’ll be another year and March for Life that MSNBC doesn’t give a second of coverage to.

Those hateful pics of people and police hurting, binding or killing others for ‘stealing’ are terrible and send mixed messages to viewers. Regardless of the circumstances…a little more compassion in covering that type of news story is necessary considering the situation there.

One of the horror of big disasters is a breakdown in the social structure, where you have people looting and stealing and scaring people. There’s not much the Police can do but what they’re doing to avoid absolute chaos. When people don’t have food and don’t homes, they go to the ones who do and will kill or beat them to get to what they need. It’s a horrifying experience.

I hope they’re able to get some control over there.
