Saint John Chrysostom in Pittsburgh PA is absolutely gorgeous. I actually went to several Divine Liturgies with a friend and the splendor and beauty of the church and its worship services helped to start move me in the direction of the Catholic Church. Some pictures of the interior can be found here.

Alas, I don’t have a website or photo to post, but the inside of St. Nicholas in Munster, IN is absolutely gorgeous, doubly so since they completed their renovation.

I’ll be attending a wedding at Saint John Chrysostom in October.
Now I’m looking forward to it even more.

Thanks for the pics!

Ok lets go outside of North America now.
Here is one that I find interesting:

The info. on it:

  1. St. Nicholas Church
St. Nicholas’s Church in Jirásek’s Gardens is an interesting example of wooden vernacular architecture. Originally, the church was built in 1502 - 1510 in the Habura town near Mezilaborce in Eastern Slovakia. In 1740, it was sold to Malá Polana, where it was converted to a Greek- Catholic Church of St. Nicholas-the Wondermaker. In 1935, the church was purchased for Hradec Králové thanks to the efforts of Mayor Josef V. B. Pilnáček. It was renovated expensively and situated into Jirásek’s Gardens. The church is surrounded by the authentic fence. In the church interiors your attention will be drawn to a well-preserved iconostas, twelve arm chandelier and other items of indoor decoration.

God bless,

Rony

** The Icon that is on the homepage has greek words on it. Any idea what it means. I know the last word has to do with Mary.**

Evangellismos tis Theotokou…Annunciation to the Theotokos.

Thanks.👍 Is it in Koine Greek? I’m studying modern Greek right now and I look at those words and the words you supplied and they don’t match up.

They are sure ugly and they get in the way. How does one do a full prostration or even a profound bow with those things in the way? How does one move about and venerate various icons? How do children move about freely? How does one stay awake through a two hour liturgy? How does one have adequate room to accomodate a full house of people?

Yes, it will take time.😦

Is the goal to get rid of pews all together?
