God is infinite beauty.
When I look at the beauty of the universe I can’t help but think that this beauty gives us a glimpse of God’s beauty.
But this beauty I see with my eyeballs, I perceive it through my senses. Yet God is incorporeal and hence cannot be “seen” in a physical sense. How then is God beautiful?

Great question. God is beautiful because He is the epitome of perfection. He possesses all virtues with perfection. It is in our nature to be attracted to virtue, and more specifically, attracted to God.

Therefore, since we were created specifically to be with God, He is the most beautiful thing we can behold.

Now, as to how we will behold him: in Heaven, when we have the Beatific Vision, we will constantly enjoy an intellectual vision of God. We will see God, His nature, all of the things He created, all of the things He did.

Therefore our physical eyes will not be necessary to enjoy that vision of God, but we will also be able to look upon Jesus Christ, who has a physical body.
