This is a wonderful way to share your faith. Either get your own PO Box and use a pen name to remain anonymous, or use my PO Box that I called St. Clare’s Restorative Mission. I’m just trying to encourage people to write to prisoners because so many of them are looking for the Lord and need someone to care on an individual level. 30 minutes every other week makes a huge difference in someone’s life. It’s best for men to write to men and women to women. I have a list of prisoners who are waiting for pen pals.
i live in the UK i would love to write some genuine kind words…hopefully of a religious nature… to prisoners or members of the armed forces in the UK…can you recommend anything?? many thanks!

ps: i say hopefully of a religious nature as this would be an added advantage…i wouldnt mind any kind of contact as i feel it is minimal effort that could make all the difference to those so far from home! one last query…im a student so very low on the money front are there any website options or free options to send these letters/emails? please dont judge id like to make a difference but cant afford a lot at the minute:(

This is just what I have been looking for! I sent you a pm, before reading the entire thread so now I know that I can email you my letter and do it through your P.O. Box.

I see that all of these posts are at least a few years old, but I am interested in writing to an inmate. Please PM me more information if you could. Thanks:)

I had a old buddy of mine doing 33 months for DUI property damage and leaving the scene of bodily injury. I used to send him books of stamps and envelopes and paper. I would try to write him about every week for the first year. We would talk most often about the gospel because he was in a christian prison which had a contract with the state and offered a ministry school he enrolled in.
I stopped writing after my brother went to jail though, it didn’t seem right since I didn’t talk to my brother.

There is some men in prison that I know that need some pen Pals

Thanks Channing and Crawford for your responses. I was inquiring about this a year ago, and I emailed a few people, and didn’t end up getting anywhere with it. Just last week I was telling my husband how I was going to try again and find out how I could do this, and then you answered my old post. Think it’s God’s way of telling me it’s time to get a pen pal. Thanks for the website! 🙂

I too would love to be a pen pal to a prisoner… can i get more information please?

Hey Allinforhim, The link that someone posted above someonecares.org/ Is where I ended up finding a pen pal. I have 3 people I am writing to now. The man who started the program actually was just calling all the writers he had, looking for more people. He said that they currently have 511 inmates waiting for a pen pal to be paired up with. Hope that helps:)

I would write to a prisoner if I could use your PO Box. I have written through other ministries and they forward the inmate’s response to me in the mail.
