Not necessarily, but Fr. Galadza will be able to answer your questions!

You would make a GREAT Eastern Catholic priest!!

Alex
I would love to attend the Sheptytsky Institute!!! Sadly, however, I don’t know any French, which I believe is a prerequisite for them. Also, I have enough in student loans and will probably be paying those off for the rest of my life and well beyond. :o

Constantine, the Sheptytsky Institute does have an online M.A. program. I would be considering it if I knew French and could afford it. Sadly, however, my knowledge of French is limited to only a few words which I hesitate to use because I am yet to hear an American (U.S.) that doesn’t totally butcher the French language. I never knew why the French were so uptight about American’s speaking their language until I went over there and realized how beautiful it is when they’re the ones speaking! 😃

I would also have to concur with brother Alex that you would make a wonderful pastor. Your love and knowledge of the East has grown and deepened to such an extent in the short time that I’ve known you that I believe you will one day be a powerful force in the Eastern Catholic Church. 👍

I didn’t know they demand their students know French! It’s bad enough having to know Italian to study in Rome . . . 😉

The Ukrainian Orthodox seminary in Winnipeg has courses in Ukrainian language and cultural studies. But everyone can get along fine with just plain old English!

I would love to say that we should be going to that Orthodox seminary, but then I would run the risk of having TrentCath on my case with more quotes from popes about the matter . . . To his great credit, he continues to avoid calling me any names (except for “Alex” of course . . .).

Dear Constantine,

Just never mind with your false humility, friend, find the Met. Andrew Sheptytsky Institute website and get on Fr… Galadza’s case as soon as possible!!

You really would make an excellent, holy Eastern Catholic priest - the God’s truth.

I know a vocation when I sense one - go East young man!!

Magandang Hapon! Mabuhay Ang Filipinas!

Alex
Thank you for your faith Alex. Maybe someday I will get there. Right now I have my first vocation to take care of, my family 😉

I’m not sure if I am interested in the priesthood. But there is a serious lack of Deacons in our Eparchy 😉

Deacons are good 🙂 .

Do you know how an EC priest changes a lightbulb? He gets his deacon to do it . . . 😃

Deacons are great…
And this reminds me of one of my favorites: How many Orthodox priests does it take to change a lightbulb? None. Nothing ever changes.🙂

Is outrage!
Were they having light bulbs in nineteenth century Russia? I think not!
( sorry couldn’t resist).

Many years, Father Vasiliy! I wish you’d post more often. We could use more of your insight.
