Based on what you say here, I must tell you that you are in a dangerous situation. Not physically necessarily but definately emotionally. The thing about OCD is that it is a “control issue” - It’s about control. Everything must be controlled by him or else he is in trouble. This control extends to you as well. He must control you - have you near - not talk to others about things etc.
Now I’m not saying that he is doing this maliciously - far from it - it is just part of the overall disease. But at the same time you need to be careful about getting stuck in this. In co-operating with this you are only enabling his OCD. You could be in danger of losing your sense of self in his disease.

Whether he agrees to go or not, I suggest, even more strongly now than before, that you get a spiritual councilor to help you. If he refuses to go, then go alone. If he tries to prevent you going - Go anyway. It is for his good as well as yours.

Peace

Thankyou for your post you have been able to get a pretty good grasp of my life! I am such a wimp I guess I need to be stronger! I will try to get to speak to the priest and prehaps try to enrol in RCIA.I just feel other people would deal with he situation than me. I feel that all my efforts to bring my family to God is just not good enough.

So take him with you when you go talk to the priest. He doesn’t have to say anything – he can just listen. Or wait out in the waiting room with the kids.
He just would’nt feel comfortable going and would have to much anxiety to go (I know that probally sounds strange)

You are what you are, God loves you anyway. Do what you can. Strive to do a little better tomorrow and a little better the next day. God will still love you. That’s why Catholicism is so wonderful. He is not this big human the sky like some evangelical churches sell Him as that is our friend and just like us - He is perfect. And in perfect - He is forgiving. He knows what our best is - and that is all He asks of us.For right now that is all you need to do - one foot in front of the other - the rest will come later - you might want to consider putting your children in CCD so they can do this with you as well but other than that one step at a time with Him as your guide. :angel1::gopray2::juggle::hug3:

Great Post. 👍

I was reminded of a line(s) from a MAS*H episode I saw the other day.
Col Potter was saying to Hawkeye about “envy” - “…I realized the only one I had to be better than was who I am today.”

Actually you probably ARE stronger than you think. Sticking with a person who has these kinds of issues is no picnic. I know something of this. The thing to realize is that staying (at all cost) is not always the best answer.

If you continue on your journey you will do more to “draw” your family toward God than ever. It may be tough - there may be problems and set-backs - but it is worth it. And even if it seems like your boyfriend etc are moving away from God don’t let that deter you. Be Loving, Kind, Christian, and firm.

Peace
