A year ago I felt God calling me to become Catholic. I didn’t understand, so I began to learn all I could about the Church. I’m planning to start RCIA in August; I wish I could be Catholic now, but I am patiently waiting until the time is right. In the mean time I pray the Rosary and read the Catechism, and I have attended Mass though I cannot receive Holy Communion.

I am an adult survivor of child abuse and as a result I suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. I’m struggling with depression and panic attacks. I wish that I was a member of the Church so I could have that family to rely on. Until then, would you please pray for me, as a future brother? Sometimes it is so difficult to concentrate on the joy I feel from God calling me closer to Him and His Church through the fog of hurt I have from my childhood.

**Hi Grey,
I will definately pray for you. We are so proud to have you
as a brother already. You are our brother in Christ Jesus.
We will pray with you for the entire year. **

Father, we thank you for bringing this
new person to your Church.
We ask for you to send him your special
angel from heaven
to guide, defend, and protect him on this
journey to become fully Catholic
so that he may receive the body and blood
of your only son Christ Jesus.
AMEN

Hello, Grey2. Welcome to CAF. Yes, you’re already part of our family, and we love you as a brother.

Dear Lord, we thank you and praise your this, our brother, who wishes to join Your Holy Church. Guide him in his journey, and bless him abundantly with from the fountain of Your wisdom. In Jesus name we pray.

Praying for you and welcoming you into the Catholic Faith.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

HEY!!! 🙂
You are a member of the family already, even cradle catholics have to wait years to receive all those beautiful sacraments. It is a process we all go through and that is the beauty of it all. That yearning to receive the Eaucarist is exiting. Now remember we are a normal family  so we have our share of flaws, it is a human thing you will find everywhere. But the church is a Gem, she is like a mother sweet love and tough love, but it is always Love. She is raising the Lords’ children, not an easy job for her, OKAY?🙂 Obedience leads to humility, humility creates sainthood. Remember “stay together”, “be patient with one another”, “do not divide”. Keep your eye on the Lord, not any one human in the church and feed from the Eucarist. Be still, in the Lord, if you ever encounter a storm within. All the saints had their share of issues, read some.

Father thankyou for this brother whom is preparing for the sacraments, just like we all did one day. Show him how beautiful it is to live in the “now”. Give him the wisdom of knowing that the past is only real in our memory ike a movie we choose to play over and over and that the future is nothing but a dream. Let him feel that his life is only real today and right now under Your loving gaze. By the power of the Holy Spirit he “is” right now walking hand and hand with You Father and that in itself scares away any wounds of the past (that in reality no longer exists). Give him the strength to let go and just “be” in the now with you sweet Father. Amen

Thank you all so much for your replies. I read the prayers and felt as though I were praying them with you. I feel that the storms in my heart have been quieted a little, and I am praying now myself to my Father.

I went with my wife’s grandparents to Adoration a few weeks ago. It was the most beautiful spiritual experience of my life. What a wonderful treasure Catholics have to be in the actual physical and spiritual presence of our God and Savior. I was Baptist for years, and I always wondered what the point of Communion was, since it was always made so clear that it was “just a symbol” and nothing more.

My whole body and soul yearns for the day I receive the Eucharist for the first time.

As for the present – I am blessed to have so many brothers and sisters in Christ!

Welcome! Praying for you to find the peace of Christ through the Catholic Church!

Welcome to CAF, Grey. You are in my prayer. Especially, this month’s Pope intention is to pray for reconciliation. I pray that you will always focus on God’s mercy on the Cross and this will heal your heart, body, and soul.

It’s a blessing that you pray the Rosary!!!

God bless you on your journey Home.

Praying for your intentions:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God Bless
In Jesus through Mary

Welcome grey2! 🙂

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 62 (63)
Thirsting for God

O God, you are my God, I wait for you from the dawn.
My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you.
I came to your sanctuary,
as one in a parched and waterless land,
so that I could see your might and your glory.
My lips will praise you, for your mercy is better than life itself.

Thus I will bless you throughout my life,
and raise my hands in prayer to your name;
my soul will be filled as if by rich food,
and my mouth will sing your praises and rejoice.
I will remember you as I lie in bed,
I will think of you in the morning,
for you have been my helper,
and I will take joy in the protection of your wings.

My soul clings to you; your right hand raises me up.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Praying for you.

Amen.

Grey2, your post brought tears to my eyes…I could just imagine how much our Lord must have delighted in your presence with him during Adoration. And, as the others have said, you are a member of our family. God bless you! I am praying for you…

Wecome to CAF and congratulations on journeying into The Church - I hope the time will pass very quickly for you and very rewardingly also. Will be keeping you in prayer…

Praying for you to feel the faith, acceptance, and the love that the Catholic Church will give you unconditionally!
