Hi everyone! This is my first post, I just registered :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
I was wondering what prayer/s do you guys say before bed? I usually say Our Father or the Confiteor. But it depends…

I hope you’re all staying safe during these unprecedented times and I pray to God to make this virus go away soon.

God Bless You.

The Lord’s Prayer is great! Jen Fulwiler published an exegesis of it that explains every word, probably google-able. I often simply find an intention to pray for.

Peace and God’s closeness be with you always.

They’re are a couple of ones I like to say from the ‘Blessed be God’ Book.

“Into thy hands O’ lord I commend my spirit. Lord Jesus, receive my soul as I lay me down to rest. May He bless, govern and protect me; and after this short pilgrimage, bring me to everlasting happiness. Amen”

Well, I have an examination of conscience, say five decades of the Rosary for specific intentions, pray the three Hail Marys devotion, and an additional Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be, Fatima prayer for specific intentions and additional Our Father,Hail Mary, Glory be, Eternal Rest grant unto them for the deceased. And the Guardian Angel prayer. These are my night prayers.

For years I’ve wished I could do a nightly examen, but I’ve never been able to; every one I’ve found tells you to find specific instances of God working in your day, and I just don’t see him anywhere. I can trace some longer arcs, but daily? I spend plenty of time in prayer, but no way. It’s frustrating, demoralizing, and when I’ve tried to push for it I invariably end up despondent. So instead, at bedtime I write a brief journal entry, “Jesus, thank you for…” and “Please…” I’m pretty sure that counts as prayer.

If I say a decade at bedtime I am usually fast asleep at the second Hail Mary. 😅

Haha.

Well, most of my daily prayer time is at night. Because I am relaxed then, I can have silence and no interruptions.
I have struggles with my prayer and spiritual life, like we all do sometimes. Don’t worry. Our prayer lives develop throughout or lives. I am far from a prayer warrior or a saint, I have numerous sins and flaws. But, my advice for everyone is, perseverance.
We should approach prayer with the awareness that we are approaching the almighty, loving Father, and our prayers should be honest and come from the heart and out of love for God.
And, don’t worry too much about falling asleep during a rosary. I have read on these forums that many people experience that. While you should work on that, don’t think that God is disappointed with you, He is a loving, patient and good Father. Just try approaching prayer with honesty, humility, faith, hope, gratitude and love. I believe it will all work out when we have those things present. 😁

Peace!

At bedtime I Pray the “Our Father”, then I personally add…“Thank You for everything in my Life…I Love You above all else…and Please God…forgive me for all my Sins”…Amen!

I like St Gertrude’s prayer for the souls in purgatory as well
