Daniel Barenboim conducted an excellent rendition this year at Royal Albert Hall of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony which is perhaps the greatest piece of music ever written: youtube.com/watch?v=sJQ32q2k8Uo
Woah, French cheese never tasted as good on a grilled cheese sandwich as American.Beethoven is to Pachelbel what French Cheese is to American Cheddar (no offence)
Great video BTW!![]()
No, can’t say I have. I don’t really think one composer was better than the other, just different. You’ve never had grilled brie?
I’ve just been watching the video. Fantastic performance - And no clapping between movements, which helps keep the tension up.
You’re right - I was just stirring the pot a bit.No, can’t say I have. I don’t really think one composer was better than the other, just different.
Beethoven’s was probably more amazing because of his deafness. Pachelbel’s music is very simple, but magnificent.
I really like Beethoven’s ‘‘Moonlight Sonata’’ as well, not to mention’’ Ode to Joy’’.
Yeah, I’ll try it sometime. You’re right - I was just stirring the pot a bit.
But you should try grilled brie:thumbsup:
I’ll see your flash mob and rasie you the Ode by a chorus of 10,000 at the opening of the Nagano Olympics. This was probably posted elsewhere on another thread, but this is a video I enjoyed of a “flash mob” performance of Beethoven’s Ninth that was sponsored by a local bank, featuring the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, the Lieder, Amics de l’Òpera and Coral Belles Arts choirs… The reactions of the onlookers is very enjoyable as well:
