Has anyone heard a myth about a woman who preceded Eve called Lillith?
My understanding is that Lillith is a demon … as discussed in the Jewish virtual library:Has anyone heard a myth about a woman who preceded Eve called Lillith?
Me Composer the ongoing successful Cult buster: Facts prove bible Story book jebus is a Historical Myth also and never literally existed outside of Story book Land either!I’ve heard of her but I don’t believe she existed. She’s just a myth.
Quite true.I have also heard of her and I also do not believe in her. It is the teaching of the Church that Adam and Eve were the first two people ever. You can read more about the Church’s teaching on evolution here:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_and_evolution
catholic.com/tracts/adam-eve-and-evolution
There are also other articles online that you can read.
Adam’s first wife - turns out she was also the proto feminist and stompted away from Adam when she read the terms & conditions of their relationship. She is now the guardian spirit of homesexuals & abortionsts. Not nice. Not nice at all!Has anyone heard a myth about a woman who preceded Eve called Lillith?
Adam was the first man, Eve was the first man. This is Defined doctrine of the Catholic Church and is the Revelation of Genisis. Anything outside of the teaching is just make believe stroy telling, the stuff of Novels and Short Stroies.Has anyone heard a myth about a woman who preceded Eve called Lillith?
I don’t think you meant what you wrote above: “Adam was the first man, Eve was the first man.”Adam was the first man, Eve was the first man. Sure. Glad you have a since of humor. It is in short supply around these parts.I don’t think you meant what you wrote above: “Adam was the first man, Eve was the first man.”
I am sure you meant that Adam was the first man, Eve was the first woman."![]()

Lillith is a midrash resulting from a hyper-literal reading of the Bible. Since the Bible speaks twice about the creation of a woman (Gn 1:27 and 2:22) readers asked “Hey but what happened to that woman created in chapter 1?” And so Lillith was created to solve what was seen as an incongruity in the biblical text. Lillith was the first woman created (and ran off in most stories); Eve was the second.Has anyone heard a myth about a woman who preceded Eve called Lillith?
