Night prayer. Or at least I try to. If I can’t sleep I will pray the rosary. God bless you.

I usually read the weekday /night prayer from St. Joes prayerbook. I pray the Rosary before my “after work nap.”

I don’t normally. I do, however, try to pray Lauds and Vespers daily. 🤷

As I approach my golden years, I find myself falling *asleep *as I pray at night.

On the lighter side: The Father Mulcahey character on the MAS*H tv show said he prayed night prayers something like this:

“Now I lay me down to sleep.
A bag of peanuts at my feet;
If I die before I wake,
Give them to my brother Jake.”

A cute pic with those words: cheezburger.com/2329630976

Crikey, I am yawning as I write this . . .:o Good night, all ~

I use the evening prayer in the Magnificat…I know it’s technically for evening and not night, but I use it anyway cuz it’s awesome!

I thank the Lord for what he has given me, do penance for what I did wrong during the day, and pray for the ones I love or need prayer (they ones who do not like me or what I think). I then pray for their souls. and then thank again. Generally, it is rather short, and I could repeat it twice.

Most prayer books include Morning prayers and Night Prayers.
I use those prayers but also include some of my own, knowing that people do die in their sleep. I ask Him to protect me from " a sudden and unprovided death", etc.

Compline (aka Night Prayer) in either the Liturgy of the Hours or the Monastic Liturgy of the Hours (depending which Office I’m using at the time).

I try to never go to bed without saying an act of contrition.

I say the Rosary then Night Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours.

You could at least pray an Our Father, Hail Mary, Apostle’s Creed, and make an Act of Faith, Hope and Love, and after your Examination of Conscience and Act of Contrition. You could pray the Litany of Loretto and the Litany to St. Joseph, and pray for the Poor Souls of Purgatory. You could pray additional prayer as well. God bless you.

After Compline, upon actually settling into bed: In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ + crucified, I lay me down to rest. Bless me, O Lord, defend and govern me; and after this short and miserable pilgrimage, bring me to everlasting happiness. Amen.

God bless.
