Hello,
I have a Protestant friend who was told that the Church didn’t recognize Protestants as fellow Christians until after the second Vatican Council. Knowing that the Church is a consistent teacher, I would think he is wrong and that baptism before the council would be as valid as baptism after the council.
Could you provide more information on this and possibly point me to the Vatican II document that talks about this?
Thank you so much for these wonderful forums and for the great work that Catholic Answers does.
