Unlike Jesus, all those that know me real well, family and old friends, know all my bad actions as well as my good actions. This is the hardest thing to do especially when it comes to the cohabitation stance of the church. But I don’t cave. I have one cousin who said that she is a good Catholic and keeps the commandments except the one about attending mass. More reasons to pray.

Once I was discussing some issue in my class with my professor (woman) and the rest of the class (24 girls). It was a debate about D.H. Lawrence’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover. I knew it would become heaten up in the class as I would say something against it (I mean, condemning the sex scenes, for example).
Well, I found out that there were only two Catholics in my class, one of them being my professor. They were also good Catholics (as they tried to say) - save the fact that they were defending the book, protesting strongly against my objections (that it was actually pornographic), saying that it is not possible to discuss with Catholics like me that defend what the Church says (actually they though that CC says sex is only for fathering children, not for pleasure) and not agreeing with what what the CC actually teaches… but in other ways…surely good Catholics… yup
Other were chuckling about happily when I opened my mouth… what else should I have expected, though. But it was an interesting experience…it made me think a lot that people really condemn what they think (!) CC teaches. Not what it really does.
