Being a true christian/catholic

I get confused/mixed up a lot. I was wondering, I read that God doesn’t send people to hell, you choose yourself. And not all people who say “Lord, Lord” will enter. (that comes from some verse) You have to really believe in God etc and follow his ways. Well…what if you think you really believe in God and what if you do whats right as best as you can, *but don’t know if you are true about it (or are not sure about it) because of being confused? *[what if Im just trying to copy people?? what if Im not true about it?? what if this isnt really me? what if I dont really, really believe in God? what if I dont really love god? I dont even know if I do)*Isn’t that like, just being a person who appears to be good/devoted/a christian?

I hate feeling so mixed up all of the time. Wish I could say more but I don’t know how to explain right now.

Hello,Feelings are great up to a point.You’re not a Christian because you feel like one(although its good to feel like one),We are Christian because Jesus paid the ultimate price to Redeem us and we try our best to obey His Commandments and His Example,and to be honest,I sometimes fail miserably.But guess what,Jesus is ready,willing and able to Fogive and Help me.Its good that we try to imitate the Saints(living or those in Heaven).May I suggest this: www.ewtn.com. All we can do is our best, in terms of following Christ and pursuing Catholic self-mastery. We will always fall short, by a lot. But…we never quit. Of course it’s a struggle. It was meant to be – hence, our free will, and fallen nature. Mastering Christian discipleship is always a work-in-progress, which makes it so challenging and rewarding.
