Being an accessory to another's sin by defending the wrong done

One of the ways we can be an accessory to someone else’s sin is to defend their wrong action(s). Surely this would apply to publicly endorsing someone else’s immoral behavior, but what about if you personally believed that the individual in question did nothing wrong yet didn’t publicly endorse it?

Whether the endorsement is public or private is irrelevant. You have still justified the immoral act to yourself and have therefore participated in the individual’s sin.

Not being judgemental is a good thing. ‘‘being an accessory’’ is helping or not helping that person.
If a friend fights some one and hurts that person and I don’t try to stop him, I could be an accessory by not taking action.

Take abortion, I truly beleive that the lady seeking an abortion is resopnsible for killing her kid, not the doctor, nurse, nor the president… I have never been able to change a womans mind once she is determined, I then try to help her and make her cdonfortable

The human being has aborted their childrenfrom the beginning of time, Roe vs Wade only gives that person a clean professional clinic to have her abortion, it is not the cause of the abortion. I support the laws of America, if you don’t want to pay for abortions change the law.

Of course, we can’t judge people, as we don’t know what was in the heart and soul of the person committing the objectively wrong act. But condoning the objectively wrong act itself is another matter entirely.

More than anything, what I especially have in mind are those Catholics who think there was nothing wrong with what Archbishop Lefebvre did in 1988 even though they may not attend SSPX chapels themselves.

And just for the record, I also brought this up in the Traditional Catholicism forum but haven’t really gotten a good answer there.
