I was wondering if any of use prayer or anything else Catholic at work? I like to say at least one Hail Mary before begining my day at work. I also try and get a few minutes each day to read a little about a Saint, or say a prayer. I am usually so busy and engrosed in the legal and insurance atmosphere all day. I find that a 30 second prayer is great for focusing on what is truely important. Just wondering about you.

well as a full time student i dont work. but you better believe i find time for prayer in my day, especially around test time 🙂

I pray silently at work throughout the day. I keep a copy of the St. Francis Peace Prayer at my desk and refer to it often when challenges in the workplace pop up.

Sincerely,

I certainly don’t have any sort of “routine” that I keep… but I’m always silently praying in my mind. I often browse around Catholic websites and read scripture or about saints… and definitely pray when difficult challenges at work arise and say prayers of thanks when they resolve!

I used to line up paper clips on my desk and pray the rosary! 😃

I work in a call center. When I come in, I set up my cubicle and terminal and prop up a holy card against the CPU. At 6am and noon, I silently pray the Angelus. Between calls, I open the pocket Bible and read a verse or two.

Of course, grace before lunch in the break room.

I too mark the day with the quiet prayer of the Angelus. I used to try to take my breviary out to my car to pray the Liturgy of the Hours during my coffee break(s) but the constant worry over time constraints made for a less than prayerful environment. So, I pray that at home but have a copy of the Magnificat sitting at hand throughout my shift so that I can take a sip of cool water, as it were, during whatever downtime I may have. Also, just by having people see the new cover each month makes for magnificent evangelization.

Also, a lot of my co-workers take the Lord’s name in vain so I always like to snap back with a muttered response such as “Word” or “He is risen, indeed”. They often apologize and, at least for a moment, they do seem to get it. Of course, I’m such a hapless doof that I’m usually finding myself dropping the F-Bomb about five minutes later…

Ugh, the pain of being human. (But also the pure joy as well!!)

Peace

When I worked at an office I used to pray quietly. I don’t like to call attention to myself like in that in public.

I try to always pray before meals, no matter where I’m at or who is around. A lot of people don’t do this anymore, especially at work or out at lunch but I find it a great way to focus on the fact that my job, my family, my life and of course the “Gifts I’m about to receive” are from Him.

I also try to check the boards a couple of times a day and add a comment or pray for someone who is asking or needs it.
