I am still besieged. I realise that the sweetest delusions carry the deadliest poison to the conscience and the soul.

I just don’t want to inherit the misdeeds of my ancestors for the sake of honouring them. My family legacy alone cannot guarantee my salvation, because my family cannot remit my sins and raise me to Heaven by their own power, nor I do the same to them by my own power. And they should not misinterpret God’s will (on purpose) to justify controlling my life and bending me to their own wills. I am never comfortable with being an extension of another person’s life nor being “reduced” to being his own pack animal or machine.

I simply want to serve God to the fullest extent because He, as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, outranks us all.

I’m not expecting any exemption from moral liability nor “special privileges” just because I have Chinese descent, diagnosed with a mental disorder, or live outside the capital region. The laws of God and Church are crystal-clear on perilous issues such as abortion, media piracy, communism, and contraception.

And by the way, I want to make sure that I would not tolerate media piracy in my workplace and (when going freelance) would properly pay taxes and register my business before the first day of work.

Lord, have mercy on me, a very grievous sinner; help me cope with my personal problems and to show respect for my friends.

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.
 
Trust

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this, you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore, I will trust you always, though I may seem to be lost in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. Amen.
