Its obvious, that sin is sin, and adultery, fornication, and lusts, is all damnable under the Catholic Church, However, My question goes, how are we to be “sexual” as Catholics, for example, its important to "get out there"m and meet people, but, how does that translate if you are Catholic… dressing, talking, etc. its obvious we have hormones and we all are attracted to members of the oppsoite sex, but how, are we supposed to translate that without sinning, and remainging true to our faith

That’s a very broad question, Jay!

If you wouldn’t do it in front of Jesus, then don’t do it. 🧐

God created sexual attraction. So inherently, it is good. We just have to figure out were healthy sexual attraction leaves off and “original sin”, or immoderate desires not in accord with faith and reason take over.

Best way to court and interact with persons of the opposite sex is to nurture a healthy friendship(s) among members of the opposite sex and very gradually discern from there.

  1. Control yourself. You are the highest in the food chain.
  2. Look at their EYES. See the eyes of Christ. Would you check His Body out?
Didn’t think so.

As a female, I count myself as very fortunate that I wasn’t born in a Muslim community. Where women lack the freedom to wear what they like and basically have to adhere to things (in a vein suggested by that video) or to cover up completely. Suppression of free will is basically fascism.

I consider it appropriate to dress for the occasion correctly. From clubs and bars, to formal dances and dining. I do so to honour the customs of that environment and people. Few of whom are Christian.

Also because I believe in walking amongst the people and sharing their lives and experiences. Not hiding from them in fear.

Most young women want to attract a mate, against an awful lot of competition. You can’t quote scripture to them - because it doesn’t appeal to the reality of what they are going through.

So how do I approach sexuality? The same as any other decent person. Treat yourself and others with respect and don’t be afraid of your sexuality.

We aren’t nuns. We work hard to maintain our appearance and care about our relations. Perspective is important. Without it the influence the church has on the public will fade to nothing.

Dating is meant for finding if this person is a suitable partner for marriage. That is its purpose.
Do not do anything that excites you to want to fornicate or anything.
This changes from person to person, but this probably means no making out, and almost definitely means no touchy feely stuff!

I love Fr. Mike Schmitz, however his intros are usually extremely fast.
