Being spiritually strong regarding stealth attacks against our Faith

Jesus told us what to do in the face of attacks against our faith.

Rejoice and be glad! Wow, did anybody ever think of that before?

Matt 5:11-12
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

I shake my head at all the Christians who lead by pointing out they are angry and upset over cultural decay (that Jesus prophesied and told us not to worry about) and gay marriage this and abortion that and they are constantly in a state of frenzy, without even getting into issues of ‘liturgical novelty’ like spirit dancers, holding hands during Lord’s prayer, and Communion in the hand.

Jesus gave us the formula. Do not waver from peace and joy. Pope Francis is trying to refocus us from judging the sins of the world presumably in the name of God, to following our own ministries, and I appreciate that.

If you walk in the spirit, there is no condemnation. There is No Need to be upset.

So walking in the spirit should produce fruit of the spirit, regardless of world situation:

Gal 5:22-23
In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

The strongest thing we can do is rejoice and be glad, or as a very minimum not get upset because if we lose our peace then we have tossed aside the weapons of true spiritual warfare and made it about human ego. Because if we are not producing fruit of the spirit, neither must we be walking in the spirit.

And yeah, I showed my older son (in seminary) and he immediately recognized the chant as one he had just sent me music to via email! like woah, right?

If somebody gets their Jimmie’s Rustled (gets upset) over something, you can tweak them by sending them “No need to be upset.” If they are not savvy to the game, and even if they are, this could “backfire” and result in further rustling.

To be spiritually strong is in my mind to know one’s faith! My Lord has given me this precept that I had taken for granted, but why do all these ‘miracles’ only happen in this one Church, including Eastern Orthodox? My non-catholic friends simply cannot answer that one. Is someone trying to tell me something?

I’m glad it gave you a laugh. I actually sent the lawnmower to some feminists on FB, twice in the same thread. These professional “anti victim blamers” whose relevance depends on creating a steady supply of victims whose hero they can be. I shot them down and closed the whole room – it was great. Felt like clearing the tables might have felt, a little. Feminist leaders are no more interested in “solving” gender issues, than Al Sharpton is in “solving” racial issues.

My 18 year old son keeps me up to date on some of the funnier things that go around. I’ve heard the term “troll” thrown around here before, but really I had no idea that annoying people, and then annoying people who think they are annoying other people, etc. is no less than a diverse art form, its media being whatever a web connection offers.
