I have been doing better not gambling, right now I found access to some new funds and I’m being tempted to gambling.I’m praying my heart out to resist, and hope I can resist and defeat this devil, for your prayers thank you.I cannot handle any more pain and trouble in my soul that gambling causes me.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen…

Prayers for God to take away your desire to gamble and in the meantime give you the fortitude to refrain from doing so. May you be able to resist this temptation.

St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle.

Mary.

my prayers for you…

Hopefully you have a good Pastor, if you can, call him and tell him that you have an addiction to Gambling and need some help. As with any addiction, it can be difficult to break without support and sometimes medical help.

Also, consider adoration, and please pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, every time you feel this temptation, pray the Chaplet, and the Rosary (you already have one in hand 🙂 )

Put those funds in a term deposit that cannot be touched. May Mary in her love whisper your name in the ear of her son as she did so at Cana, and may He show his boundless love by not allowing temptations greater than you can resist in your weakness, as we are all weak in this vale of tears.

I ended up going out to play with a bit,as well as getting my mother stressed and upset. Thankfully, I’m okay after I lost, i turned to prayer after it and I realise I dont enjoy playing anymore,so I will keep trying to move on and keep clear of these machines. Praying the chaplet is a good idea,I will do it God willing. Thanks again,Lord please help me to move on to better and brighter things,Amen.

Most people have some form of obsession,. Most keep it under control,
Some really struggle with it,fail, then get back up and try again,
Your obsession happens to be gambling, it’s like an invisible magnet that relentlessly draws you towards it, to fight against this invisible magnet, try building a brick wall
In your mind,so that brick wall is between you and the obsession,.
Picture yourself laying these bricks, and when the obsession draws you, start counting how many bricks you are laying, how many you had laid, making patterns in this wall,
And just how to make a patten of a house or animal, how many bricks you would need,
Get pen & paper and mathematically work out the amount of bricks required,
By doing this, you are building a brick wall, you start stopping the obsession,
Because your pre occupying your mind with another obsession,
It should work,it worked for me,and I Figured it all by myself, it worked,

Praying that God provide strength for you, and you have the strength to surrender to Him.

Praying that the Lord may continue to strengthen you and enable you overcome your addictions.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen

For spiritual strength,

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Eternal Father, in whom mercy is endless
And treasury of compassion is inexhaustible
Look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us
So that in difficult moments
We may not despair
Nor become despondent
But with great confidence
Submit ourselves to your holy will
Which is love and mercy in itself

Praying for you to have the strength to overcome these temptations

Peace and All Good!

A NOVENA TO ST. DOMINIC
O renowned champion of the faith of Christ,
most holy saint Dominic, who didst renounce the honour and dignity
of an earthly principality to embrace the poor,
laborious, and mortified life
which should distinguish a disciple of Him Who has said:
“If any man will come after Me,
let him take up his cross and follow Me.”
O burning torch,
who being thyself consumed with the fire of divine love,
didst incessantly labour
to enkindle that sacred flame in the hearts of others,
look down upon me from that throne of glory
where thou enjoyest the reward of all thy labours,
and obtain that some sparks of that blessed fire
may be lighted in my soul,
to animate and encourage me under any crosses or trials
with which it shall please the divine goodness to visit me.
Thou, O great Saint,
regardest as nothing all the afflictions thou didst endure,
and all the toils thou didst undergo for the promotion of God’s holy cause;
obtain, I beseech Thee, that the same
ardent love which strengthened thee,
may make sweet to me labours, humiliations, disgraces,
or whatever other mortifications
I may have to suffer for the Name of Jesus.
May I ever bear in mind that nothing can happen to me
but by the particular dispensation of a God
Who is infinitely wise,
and therefore knows what is best for my welfare; infinitely powerful,
and consequently able to effect it;
and above all,
infinitely merciful and loving,
Who has laid down His life for my redemption,
and continues daily to give new proofs of His love and bounty.
O tender Father of the poor who,
when all other resources were exhausted,
didst offer thyself for their relief,
obtain for me that true spirit of compassion for the suffering members of Jesus Christ,
which shone forth so conspicuously in thy holy life.
May I, by charity to those whom Jesus so dearly loves,
lay up for myself treasures in heaven,
where thou now enjoyest that which the eye hath not seen,
nor the ear heard,
nor the heart of man conceived,
but which God has prepared for those who love Him,
and who prove themselves His Disciples
by the observance of His Divine precept - love one another.
I praise and thank God for the high degree of sanctity
to which He had raised thee,
and the special privileges
by which He has distinguished thee.
I conjure thee,
by that gratitude with which thou shalt for all eternity
be penetrated for thy Divine Benefactor,
implore for me the grace to root out of my heart
whatever is not agreeable in His sight, especially that evil habit
by which I most frequently offend Him.
Obtain likewise the favours I request in this Novena,
through thy powerful intercession.

Strength & Grace for Paul

O glorious Mother of God,
Queen of the most sacred Rosary,
thou who didst love Dominic with the affection of a mother,
and were most tenderly loved and honoured by him,
look upon me, for his sake, with an eye of pity,
deign to join with him in presenting these petitions
to thy most Blessed Jesus.
I sincerely desire from this moment
to love Him with all my heart,
and serve Him with all my strength,
and now place myself under thy powerful protection,
as a sure means of obtaining all the graces necessary
to serve Him faithfully here,
that I may eternally rejoice with Him hereafter. Amen.

:blessyou:

Paul, get a 10th of the money you have and donate it to Catholic Relief Services, for instance, for all the people who are seeking refuge from persecution in the Middle East since otherwise they would face death. That is, if you can afford it. And having helped Christ in the distressed ask Him to help you handle the amount that’s left. Just an idea.

You’re in my prayers.

God bless,

PRAYER TO STOP A GAMBLING HABIT

O God, who didst break the chains of blessed Peter the Apostle and didst make him come forth from prison unscathed, loose the bonds of thy servant, PaultheApostle, held in captivity by the vice of gambling, and by the merits of the same Apostle, do thou grant him to be delivered from its tyranny. Remove from him the compulsion to gamble, so that, living a balanced life, justly and piously, he may attain to everlasting life with thee. Amen.

Jesus, I trust in You!

Ave Maria, Gratia plena
Dominus tecum,
Benedicta to in mulieribus,
Et benedictus, fructus, ventris tui Jesus

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,
Ora pro nobis, pecatoribus nunc,
Et in hora mortis nostrae.

Amen

Oh My Jesus, Forgive us our sins,
Save us from the fires Hell,
And lead all souls to Heaven,
Especially those in most need of they mercy,
Amen

We turn to our Saints in Heaven for intercessory prayer. For all of us, but especially for the intentions of the petitioner in this thread, Paul.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help
or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
We fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not our petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer them. Amen.
