A couple of questions here; the first more important:
- Why does the Church favor Theodotion’s revision over the LXX manuscript. This seems rather extraordinary to me for some reason.
- What exactly does the dragon refer to? Is it some sort of a large snake, or is it more probable that the author intends some sort of exotic or actual legendary beast to be understood? This doesn’t really matter, I suppose the point is just to provide a second type of “living god” for Daniel to expose as false. But just out of curiosity…
