Belarusian Greek Catholic

Greetings all,

I was baptized at Christ the Redeemer church in Chicago, however haven’t lived in the area since the 90’s. though we lived in the suburbs, my father was devout and we would drive each Sunday into the city for liturgy. I recall Bishop Valadimir coming to our home several times for dinner and remember him as quite an intelligent and like able man.

I see now that the church was suppressed in -2003. Sadly it was the only Belarusian Greek church in the USA.

I’m looking for reading material on the history of that church as well as Belarusian Catholicism in general. Does anyone have any good book recommendations?

The history it tied to the Ukrainian Catholic Church from the Union of Brest (Poland) in 1595-1596. At that time Poland-Lithuania territory was near to that shown in the map, including those faithful that lead to the Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Belarussian Catholic Church.
