I just went through Baha’u’llah website, word for word, and I did hear about how Great he says he is , but absolutely no mention of the word… Devil or Satan.

PS I now see where you get the name Servant19 from, you are the Servant of Baha’u’llah right, thats the age 19 when you started to be his Servant ?

Dear Techno,

I have noticed that you have a preference for reading less esoteric passages. I most certainly did not intend any disrespect when stating that I could write a long essay on a “flowery and esoteric” passage of the Baha’i Writings. I only said what I did to indicate that there is a “process” to go through to be able to read the Word of God in the Baha’i Revelation.

It is very important to start with the simple stuff first and work your way through the terminologies and expressions.

I certainly would say your best bet is with a local Baha’i study circle, but if you prefer to read online, then the first port of call for all is the book, Baha’u’llah and the New Era, by Dr. Esslemont, a doctort who embraced the Baha’i Faith in 1915

Again, this is a vast topic.

In brief, the number 19 takes its significance originally from the Quran. I will elaborate further in a moment.
  1. The Bab (who was the forerunner to Baha’u’llah) had 18 people (whom He entitled them as “Letters of the Living”) who independently recognized Him. These 18 people traveled from all parts of Iran to where He resided in the city of Shiraz and embraced His Revelation and His Faith. They found Him ONLY through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and one of them, the only woman, Tahirih never met Him, but embraced His Revelation and Cause by way of a dream that she had. Together with the Bab, these 19 people formed the first ever Babi’s (who later all became Baha’is).
  2. The Bab also developed the Baha’i calendar, which consists of 19 months in a solar year with 19 days each.
  3. Now the significance in the Quran of the number 19 can be found here:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quran_code

But the most significant for Baha’is is the statement made by the Bab, that the meanings of the entire Quran is enshrined in the 19 letters which form the beginning of every Surih in the Quran (B’ismillah Rahman’ul Rahim translated as "In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful") and this sentence can be understood by the first word alone, B’ismillah بسم الله

This word can be understood by the first letter of that word which is the Arabic letter B
(1.bp.blogspot.com/_m0WrTmVpPKw/SI08DA9JnXI/AAAAAAAAAFk/qAcIkX0AZPI/S730/Arabic%2B-B-,%2BUyghur%2Bscript%2B%28public%2Bdomian%29.png)

The Bab says then that the meaning of this letter is enshrined in the dot or point at the bottom of this Arabic letter. He then says that** He **is that Point. The Primal Point around which creation came into existence.

Hope that is legible. My apologies if there is any confusion. 🙂 .
Nope got all that, amazing is it not! 👍

How small we are, how little we know, but how much we think we know! 😊

God Bless and Regards Tony

The Bab is such a fascinating character in religious history. I never tire of reading about His life and His expositions.

👍

If it was the same way as Christ is God then Abdul’Baha is God also, like his father Baha’u’llah.
No dear friend, I have just told you that is not so. I also informed you that Abdul’Baha has also stated that.

Shoghi Effendi did explain this in detail in this article

reference.bahai.org/en/t/se/WOB/wob-39.html

“…Let those who have known ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, who through their contact with His magnetic personality have come to cherish for Him so fervent an admiration, reflect, in the light of this statement, on the greatness of One Who is so far above Him in station…”

Thus I would hope this does not have to be stated or explained again.

God Bless and Regards Tony

Dear friend Techno.

I can elaborate on this question when you tell me what you believe happens to us when we die. Do you think you go and “float in outer space”??

Please elaborate.

.
I just wanted to know is meant by" everlasting banishment" because its so vague
like everything about your religion, do you even have a Creed ?

As far as I know we do not have a creed. What is so vague about everlasting banishment? It sums itself up quite nicely. There is nothing vague about this Revelation. One could say the Christian creeds are vague summaries of the Christian faith. God bless.

Not sure what you see as vague dear friend.

This is no ore vague than Matt 25:46: " And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."

🙂

I would not call it a creed, but all Baha’is declare the following:

“I believe in Baha’u’llah, the Promised One of God for this Day. I also recognize the Bab, His forerunner, and Abdu’l-Baha, the Centre of His Covenant. I understand that Baha’u’llah has established sacred principles, laws and institutions which I must obey”

🙂

.

So, its Abdu’l-Bahá (who is not God) that tell us of this " everlasting banishment " but Baha’u’llah (who is God ) does not mention this " everlasting banishment " thats odd.

Baha’u’llah bestowed upon Abdu’l-Baha the honour of being the sole Authoritative Interpreter of His Revelation.

He was not God, but His Words are considered equivalent to the Word of God, for Baha’is

Punishment is a lot different than banishment .What these sacred principles, laws and institutions ?

And you say the Trinity is hard to understand:)

What these sacred principles, laws and institutions ?
Sacred principles include:

• The oneness of mankind.

• Universal peace upheld by a world government.

• Independent investigation of truth.

• The common foundation of all religions.

• The essential harmony of science and religion.

• Equality of men and women.

• Elimination of prejudice of all kinds.

• Universal compulsory education.

• A spiritual solution to the economic problem.

• A universal auxiliary language.

Some Baha’i Laws:
  1. Prayer and reading the Holy Word morning and night
  2. Obligatory prayer once per day
  3. Fasting from sunrise to sunset from March 2 - March 19
  4. Marriage is to one spouse of the opposite sex, ad must be consented by both sets of parents
  5. Backbiting is forbidden
  6. Contributing to Baha’i Funds is a spiritual obligation
The obedience to the Baha’i institutions is a must for all Baha’is to preserve the unity and love and fellowship found so strongly in its global community. The primary Baha’i institution is the Universal House of Justice:

Today, I was led by an Angel to the chasms of hell. It is a place of great torture; how awesomely large and extensive it is! The kinds of tortures I saw: the first torture that constitutes hell is the loss of God; the second is perpetual remorse of conscience; the third is that one’s condition will never change; the fourth is the fire that will penetrate the soul without destroying it – a terrible suffering, since it is a purely spiritual fire, lit by God’s anger; the fifth torture is continual darkness and a terrible suffocating smell, and, despite the darkness, the devils and the souls of the damned see each other and all the evil, both of others and their own; the sixth torture is the constant company of Satan; the seventh torture is horrible despair, hatred of God, vile words, curses and blasphemies. These are the tortures suffered by all the damned together, but that is not the end of the sufferings. There are special tortures destined for particular souls. These are the torments of the senses. Each soul undergoes terrible and indescribable sufferings, related to the manner in which it has sinned. (741)

Let the sinner know that he will be tortured throughout all eternity, in those senses which he made use of to sin. I am writing this at the command of God, so that no soul may find an excuse by saying there is no hell, or that nobody has ever been there, and so no one can say what it is like.
I, Sister Faustina, by the order of God, have visited the abysses of hell so that I might tell souls about it and testify to its existence. (741)divinemercy.com/faustina/
