About the only thing that wouldn’t change is claiming to have a leader who is infallible on faith and morals

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

But seriously…what would a Baptholic look like?
They acknowledge the creed!

The mormons dont even acknowledge the Trinity.

Thats a deal breaker.

Well, that’s certainly true. Catholicism is Christian and Mormonism is not. They just share the Scripture+ something else similarities.

Karma isn’t a Catholic concept, nor is your representation of it consistent with Hinduism.
If Rob was trying to be consistent with Hinduism he would have reposted that comment over and over again, each time using a different username, no? 😃

My actions are consistent with those of a full fledged Mormon.
“Have the Presbyterians any truth? Yes. Have the Baptists, Methodists, etc., any truth? Yes . . . We should gather all the good and true principles in the world and treasure them up, or we shall not come out true Mormons.” - Joseph Smith (paraphrased)

I’ll teach them what I know and let them make their own decisions and draw their own conclusions.
Ok, explain to us…what “truths” does one or another have that the other does not possess? If they are in contravention, which takes precedence? Does one get to pick and choose that which makes one feel all warm and smarmy? (aka: BK theology)?

What divides Christianity from Mormonism is worlds greater than anything that could possibly unite it.

I do think there are wonderful Mormons, who do give great witness on how to be good parents, and spend time with family.

In fact, that’s one thing I most like about them so far from reading.

No one should take issue with that.

But, the creed!

How can anyone say the creed is bogus?

I thought Catholics promised to teach their children the Catholic faith?

They do.
Did you find a way out of that somehow?
Hate to put it this way, but once you make that promise, there is no way out… Its not just a commitment to just anything, its a commitment to God.

But alas, some refuse to take their beliefs seriously and to heart.😦

I am walking down a path to the light. I started in darkness and am moving to the east to find that one true light.

I cannot find that if I am solely catholic, because Catholicism got tainted over the years. Thats why it is important to pick up all the lost shards that splintered from the church and combine them all together to form that light which was once lost but by my endeavors and God’s assistance I hope to find.

In Hinduism, karma is intimately connected with the concept of dharma, simplistically speaking, one’s individual purpose in life. Since I have the dharma of a paradigm pirate, pirating paradigms is good karma.
It sounds like you would be a great candidate for masonry. It sounds like your views are very compatible with what masonry teaches.

I will pray, as a non christian, for everyone, and for my own conversion, and humbly ask for forgiveness if I have freaked out, out of ignorance and confusion against another who also believes in the Christ Crucifyed. I am just wanting to do this the right way.

I don’t want to go in through the back door and be sneaky about what I believe. I want to boldly procliam the Gospel to others, once I am in her.

🙂

So if an individual Mormon acknowledged the creed and the Trinity, it would no longer be a deal breaker. Am I right?
Your association with a tradition that denies Christian teaching would be incompatible with a church that affirms it, regardless of what your personal opinions on the subject may be.

I don’t think anyone takes issue with that at all. I really don’t. I know that I have absolutely no issues with Mormons on a purely personal level. I have known many, and served even in combat with them. Excellent people!!

It is truly odd that anyone claiming to be Christian would do so.

I would hardly say that you are a “non-Christian”… You sound very “Christian” to me.😃 You are doing it the right way!!🙂

You’re doing fine!!! 👍 👍 👍

I will teach them the Catholic faith, but not to the exclusion of others.
Oh yes I totally agree !!! So is this what mormonism teaches then? You have got me interested now in the LDS church.
