Beloved old priest recovering from surgery

The oldest and the best priest in my home parish was not there during the Holy Thursday mass when normally all the priests in the parish are every year. I was concerned and pointed it out to my parents and they said he is probably visiting relatives. He has never missed Holy Thursday before and just today my fears were confirmed. I am back at school now and my mom called that he was at mass today, but, sitting while another priest did the mass. He looked emaciated and they said that he just had surgery, without specifying what kind, and asked for us to pray for him. Poor, guy, first our associate pastor got sick an now him. It always happens to the good priests, although I would not wish this on anyone. Please keep him in your prayers. He is a gifted confessor, good homilist, and all-around beautiful person. I think he was in the priesthood some 40+ years.

the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal a priest recovering from surgery). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into a priest recovering from surgery’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
