My initial thoughts are leading up to this, Cenk has been forced to change his approach and not just sit there and blather on about cherry-picked quotes in books he’s never read Shapiro’s presence on social media and quite honestly owning any one to the left of Joe Manchin caught TYT’s attention. And it’s probably because a lot of people wrote off Cenk due to this track record. And let’s face it-----Shapiro is one the best debaters there is.
It also looks like he’s started being more respectful than the way he treated Dinesh D’Souza and Sam Harris.The Sam Harris deal was a total bust for TYT and cost them dearly in the skeptic community------that and their incessant peddling of SJW nonsense.

It looked that way in the beginning. Of course, the closer it got to the end, the more he went off the rails.
He liked interrupting a lot. Shapiro would occasionally try to speak up while Cenk was talking, going “Cenk”, but Uygur would just get louder. And I’m pretty sure he kept stealing Ben’s time.

This debate wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but Chunk Yogurt still has a lot of really annoying habits. Questioning the intelligence of the audience and repeatedly saying “google it” is extremely poor form. Ben on the other hand seems to be google himself, how else does that man remember as much as he does.

Well, clearly Cenk got wind that everyone outside of TYT thought he was going to get smashed, so he brought his A-game. What we saw was probably the best Cenk could muster. Shapiro handles different views and critics better.
As someone noted to Laci Green: This could have gone much worse for Cenk, and I would add it looked like he struggled to hold it together at times.

Also, I have to point out as a right-leaning person: I have seen ZERO evidence that any GOP Chair confirmed the alleged Nixon Southern Strategy to go after racist whites that Cenk always yammers on about. That would make no sense given their staunch loyalty to the Democratic Party and their sheer dislike for the Party of Lincoln. In fact, most of the Dixiecrats went back to the Democratic Party.
And I’m glad Shapiro finally said it: The GOP didn’ win the Congressional South until the 1994 midterms and that was over HillaryCare. They also didn’t win the South in the presidential field until Reagan’s landslide win in 1984, but then again, almost 60% of the entire country (including 1 in 4 Democrats) voted for him.the election.
The one thing I wish Ben had pointed out was that when taxes were high in the 1950s and 1960s, no one was actually paying those rates. Everything was getting written off. His analysis of America being the undamaged industrial nation of post WWII is correct, but Germany and Japan were roaring back under capitalism.
