Benedict 'Nazi' cartoon hate propaganda or satire?

Catholic Civil Rights League in Canada has issued a letter to The Honourable Aileen Carroll, Minister of International Cooperation. The letter objects to the use of taxpayer’s money through the Canadian International Development Agency to support Judy Rebick’s website rabble.ca on which she has published a libellous anti-Catholic cartoon.

The cartoon depicts Pope Benedict marching up to a statue of the Virgin Mary, raising his hand in a Nazi Salute, and saying 'Heil.'

This is only one step toward giving abortion activist Dr Henry Morgentaler the highest honour in the nation, the Order of Canada. The New Democratic Party has invited Ms Rebick to be the guest speaker at a special screening of Choice (a movie on Morgentaler) on 31 May at Aoelian Hall at Western University. This screening is 2 weeks before Western gives Morgentaler and Doris Anderson (another abortion activist) the honorary Doctor of Laws.

It saddens me that I live in Canada and I don’t have any idea as to whom I will vote for in the next election.

Oh, also, my uncle is a homosexual, and he was going on about how he was totally against gay marriage (a huge issue in Canada, and is now recognized as valid thanks to the current government) because marriage is meant for “a man and a woman”. He is also very religious and he comes from a very abusive family and admits that his homosexuality is probably tied to this in some way. He’s also anti-abortion and anti-euthanasia and death penalty.

He’s a more devote catholic than most others in my family. It’s certainly been enlightening for me to talk to him about religion.

Anyhow, I got off track their a bit. But yeah, I think this cartoon is sickening. Canada needs a kick in the rump. I’m glad I live in Newfoundland. It’s a very traditional catholic area, but at the same time it has embraced vatican II. I love it. My priest is just awesome.

Maybe I should move to NFLD. Toronto is hard on the soul. Ani.
 
Do you have a link to the cartoon? I have yet to see it. Went to the rabble site but couldnt find it.
 
The older generation is very hardcore catholic here in Newfoundland, but there are very few young people attending Church. Besides little children, there are only a handful of people my age (23) going to my local church on a regular basis.

I know an entire Archdiocese in my province had to sell everything except it’s cemeteries to pay for sexual abuse case settlements.

I will continue to pray for my country as well.
 
I can’t even come up with anything else to say but I found that cartoon very offensive. Add my email to the list telling them how much.
 
From what I have read on what is going on in Canada, I will not be supprised if the ones who complain are charged with hate crimes. The way things are going there, it seems that the Church will be designated a hate organization in a couple of years.

It should be interesting, I will be moving to near Detroit on Tuesday. I know I can get a couple of the radio stations in Canada so I will be able to hear more of what is going on there.

Maybe it is time to start Radio Free Canada.

given all the brown stuff that is being shoveled at the Church due to that law, it would be nice to see the tables turned and someone else brought up to heel. It will be interesting to see if there is any response.
 
The relationship between the Holy Father and our Blessed Mother, likened to that between* Goebels and* Hitler?! I can’t even bring myself to go look at it. Offensive doesn’t even start to describe the mere idea.

Words fail me. Father forgive her, she cannot know what she’s doing.
