What are your insights into the Anglican priesthood and the view of Anglican priests?
 
Admittedly just supposition on my part based on a couple of interviews I have heard.
 
It looks like the Vatican has responded to the book’s publication:


Despite their forceful denial that Pope Francis doesn’t support optional priestly celibacy, I still don’t think this rules out the “Amazonian exception”, and places like Germany (which is probably the real end goal of this effort).

In other news, it seems like all of the liberal Catholic theologians are up in arms about Pope Benedict making his opinion known on this topic, which is not surprising.
