January 7, 2011. Pope Benedict XVI celebrated the Epiphany by taking time to visit the pediatric ward of Rome’s Gemelli Polyclinico Hospital.
After visiting the center for spina bifida, he then met with the intensive care unit for neonatal care.
He explained the meaning of the Epiphany and the story of the Three Wisemen to the children. He also thanked the staff at the hospital for their hard work and offered his prayers for all of them.
Before leaving, the Pope personally greeted every child and gave each one a Christmas gift, much to their delight.

Loved the video-especially at the end when the little boy wrapped his arms around the Holly Father’s neck!

Very sweet! The young patients seemed to enjoy his visit!
