If you’ve never read about the life of St. John Vianney, read it, he is an awesome Saint.
(Well, they all are but this one in particular fell in love with Jesus in the Eucharist and I think reading about him would be beneficial to converts, faithful Catholics and everyone else.)

It was nice to see Pope Benedict recall his formation in Franciscan theology, considering that the Franciscan holy days and solemnities this month are several.

Aug 2: Our Lady of the Angels of Portiuncula and the Portiuncula Indulgence

Aug 7: Blesseds Agathangelus and Cassian

Aug 8: Holy Father St. Dominic

Aug 11: Holy Mother St. Clare

Aug 14: St. Maximilian Kolbe

Aug 19: St. Louis

Aug 25: St. Louis King of France

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂
