How does the celebration of the traditional Mass in a Benedictine Monastery differ from the Mass celebrated in a Parish, eg by a FSSP Priest? I know the Benedictines wear a hood instead of the biretta and add St Benedict to the Confiteor. are there more differences?

Benedictines wear a habit and the priests are indistinguishable from the non-priest monks except at Mass when the priest-monks wear the appropriate vestments.

There really isn’t very much difference. They don’t add St. Benedict to the post-Vatican II confiteor but he is mentioned in the Canon.

In places where Gregorian chant is used, there’s no responsorial psalm, instead the Gradual is sung.

I think the biggest difference you’ll ever see are these:

1. all priest-monks concelebrate the Mass around the altar;
2. there will generally be no liturgical abuses even with the Ordinary Form Mass which will be extremely reverent and liturgically accurate, at least that’s been my experience in Benedictine monasteries of various congregations.

If you want to see how the OF Mass was intended to be, attend a Mass at a Benedictine monastery of the Solesmes congregation! You’ll notice very little difference in beauty and reverence compared to an EF Mass.

Like the previous poster mentioned, the TLM used at Benedictine Monasteries are essentially the same as one at a parsh church. St Benedict will be mentioned and they would have their own calendar to go by-some of the saints of the order that don’t have a feast in the Universal calendar would be there.
No concelebration in the TLM.

Sorry missed the “traditional” part in the OP.

The vast majority of Benedictine monasteries celebrate the Ordinary Form; for them my comments apply. For the handful that use the EF, remove the concelebrate part.
