AbsolutelyOver a nice Chianti, I’m sure.
There are a couple of Benedictine ordos online. The English Benedictine Congregation shows November 13 as the feast of All Saints of the Benedictine Order.Today is the feast of All Saints of the Benedictine Order; tomorrow All Souls.
At least at “my” monastery, which is olivetan.
Does this hold throughout the Benedictine order, does anyone know?
Thanks! That is very interestingThere are a couple of Benedictine ordos online. The English Benedictine Congregation shows November 13 as the feast of All Saints of the Benedictine Order.
The American-Cassinese Congregation says “Within eight days after All Saints, the Office of the day and the Conventual Mass are to be offered in each monastery for the deceased members of that community” (The Directory, D 71.5). I don’t know what Directory they are referring to.
Like many things Benedictine, it probably depends on the monastery.
Doesn’t work for me.Can I suggest VULTUS CHRISTI, the blog of Dom Mark Daniel Kirby of the new traditional foundation, Stamullen Priory in Ireland. It is faithful and sound - vultus.stblog.org

I don’t believe there are, or if so, they are not out in the open. There was a Benedictine Sister posting for a very short time several months ago, but I have not seen her in some time.I asked in a thread specifically for the purpose, but no answer
Any Benedictine monks on CAF?
SadI don’t believe there are, or if so, they are not out in the open. There was a Benedictine Sister posting for a very short time several months ago, but I have not seen her in some time.
My understanding is that there used to be a good number of priests and religious here a long time ago, but that they all left after a time.
Agreed.Sad
Thanks Jason![]()
Are you referring to wanting to do the Monastic Diurnal? If so, you can sign up for the Trad Ben yahoo group, or check out this website. saintsshallarise.blogspot.com/Anyone know if a St Joseph’s Guide* exists for the Roman-Benedictine Liturgy of the Hours similar to the guides for the “regular” Liturgy of the Hours? I know that one exists that is Roman-Franciscan, for example.
*it doesn’t have to be St Joseph’s, obviously, as long as it was a day to day guide.
Ah, I understand now. You are looking for the calendar of saints celebrated by the OSB.Jason,
Sorry that I wasn’t clear
Nope, I mean the Liturgy of the Hours.
Let’s use July 12th as an example
The regular Liturgy of the Hours (ie, the one prayed by secular priests) = no Saint listed
The Roman-Franciscan LotH = Sts. John Jones and John Wall
The Roman-Benedictine LotH (assuming one exists) should = St Giovanni Gualberto (valombrosian Benedictines)
Is that clearer?![]()
