Benediction/Holy Hour for Life tonight - help!

Is there a template for a Benediction and Holy Hour that you can point me to? I’ve been once and couldn’t follow very well and I asked the Knight in charge and he doesn’t have a “cheat sheet” so if you know what the format is, could you give me a website so I can print a guide?

If it’s more “freestyle,” then I guess I will just have to wing it.

I found this:

In the liturgical book the heading “Benediction” is used as the heading for a longer period. It has:
“BENEDICTION
97. Toward the end of the exposition the priest or deacon goes to the altar, genuflects, and kneels. Then a hymn or other eucharistic song is sung. Meanwhile the minister, while kneeling, incenses the sacrament …
98. Afterward the minister rises and sings or says:
Let us pray. …
99. After the prayer the priest or deacon puts on the humeral veil, genuflects, and takes the monstrance … He makes the sign of the cross over the people with the monstrance … in silence.
REPOSITION
100. After the blessing the priest or deacon who have the blessing, or another priest or deacon, replaces the blessed sacrament in the tabernacle and genuflects. …”.

I think the prayers and songs are in the Missalette.

Here’s one on YouTube, I bet there are others. Maybe you can watch and make notes? youtube.com/watch?v=W2pI2047Xks Or go early, Missalette in hand, and ask them what they are going to do? Me, I’d be making cards myself and donating them for the future. I always hate it when everyone knows how the thing works and I’m sitting there silent, confused and not fully engaged.

That’s how I felt last time. Everyone but me seemed to know what to do/what to sing/what to pray.

Well, they didn’t use EITHER format, but at least the last song they sang in Latin WAS in my Missal! They only sang one verse of it. Most of the rest was just following along - we said a Rosary after the Priest had put the Host in the monstrance. Then there were readings, and then the homily, which was GREAT! I wish we’d had that priest on Sunday! He really hammered home the message, but of course this was “preaching to the choir” for we are all very pro-life in the Holy Hour. He even brought in other aspects of being pro-life but without diluting the message that killing babies in their mothers’ wombs is wrong, something the regular priest couldn’t manage to do on Sunday.

Anyway after the homily there was another reading, then the prayers of the faithful, then 2 songs in Latin (I had no Latin so unless I have it right in front of me I’m done) and “Holy God” as a final song.
