I think you will find that the water must touch the head and/or face AND flow.
 
As to the link, what I wrote in the original post should get one to it. I am sorry, I still don’t know how to make it possible for one to go to the link by just putting the cursor over it and pressing the mouse. But, if you type it into the address bar, scroll down maybe a third of the way down, and you will see the screen that will enable you to see the video. I is several minutes long, but, I think very telling.
I agree what you say agout the flowing on the forehead/skin. I just wanted to get it directly from the book, so others couldn't just say it is my opinion, and not that of approved theologians.
 
The whole of the Christian world rejoices and the redemption of a Muslim or a Secularist, if one must call him that, and the grumps over there criticize how he’s baptized? I understand that it is low key compared with the Eastern form of baptism but I can’t understand why all the grumping. Are those grumps preparing themselves for the “dust bins of history” or what?

thanks for the link. For some reason I’m only getting the very tippy top of the graphic so I can’t see the part in question. Anyway, I should think that if anyone knows the proper way to baptise someone it ought to be the pope. 😃

***Pope Benedict is the last person on the face of God’s green earth who would invalidly impart a sacrament.:eek: :mad: :banghead: I saw the live feed from the Vatican as I was getting ready for the Easter Vigil and there was nothing wrong with the way our Holy Father conferred the sacrament. 👍 My baptismal picture shows the priest doing the exact same thing and I was one of the last ones baptized under the old rite.

He invoked the Trinitarian formula and used water. That is valid enough for him, and it’s valid enough for me. Look, I’m all for correcting abuses, but to accuse the Holy Father of committing something of that nature? :tsktsk: ***
 
I wonder what you have to do to get on the list to be baptized at the Vatican during the Easter Vigil? What a great honor.

I also wonder if the Pope gets a kick out of doing these kinds of things. As a priest it’s a main duty to administer this sacrament. As a bishop, then a cardinal, and even a Pope, I would assume that you have so many other duties that you don’t get to do simple things like baptisms. I betcha they really enjoy getting to do these sacraments. I think if I were a priest that would be one of the most joyous duties to perform, baptisms. Especially for the little ones.

FWIW, his method looked fine to me.

I’m sure he does. From what the commentators on Vatican Radio said, the Elect were chosen from the five continents.

He seems to enjoy baptizing the babies. He’s rather grandfatherly with them, and, they hardly cry, at least from what I’ve seen off the Vatican feeds.

I don’t know about you, but, if I were in his line for confession, I’d probably drop dead before I got into the confessional. I think my mouth would move, but, no sound would come out. :o 😊
