Sin, not only hurts God. But also hurts the ones doing it.
Pride
If one has pride, then one will be prone to anger. Pride will bring you down when people try to bring you down. Offenses to you will get you affected if you have pride. Those who do not have pride will have patience with any offense. It is wise to just have no pride and ignore the insult. Like it says it Proverbs 19:11 “It is good sense to be slow to anger and it is an honor to overlook an offense.” Pride leads to anger and those who have pride will be led to the path of self destruction.
Anger
Those who have anger are foolish. Proverbs 29:11 Fools give full vent to their rage,
but the wise bring calm in the end." Anger leads to conflicts that are not needed. Anger may seem small but it will send you to hell. Mathew 5:22 But I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Whoever insults his brother or sister, will be subject to the court. Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to hellfire." Even the smallest wrongdoings will send you to eternal damnation." The anger only hurts you and the ones you are angry at. Be patient and do not be angry as anger is a useless emotion. It does not hurt to be calm but it does hurt to be angry.
Gluttony
Gluttony means that you are doing an excessive amount or eat too much food. Too much of anything is a bad thing. If one does not have gluttony in their life, then one will have balance. You will have time to do other things. With balance comes no weakness. With weakness comes defeat.
Sloth/ Laziness.
Laziness is a sin and it will benefit you to be hardworking. With hard work comes gain. Proverbs 10:4 “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” Doing nothing will gain you nothing and those who work will benefit themselves and others around them.
Greed
It is good to share and make equal. God said to give those who are in need. It is good to make things equal with others. It does not have to be equal but the poor are in need. If one gives to others, the ones that were once poor will be helpful one day.An example of giving is this. The first timer in a basketball team will one day help aid in the teams win. If the lesser and less talented basketball player never got better. The team would have never improved. So improve the ones that are in need so one day they will benefit those around them.
Jealousy
Jealousy will only hurt the jealous. You could choose to not be jealous. If God tells you to be patient then you can be patient. Whatever God tells you to do you can do. So control your emotions and not be jealous.
Disobedience of parents
Your parents know more than you as they have been here longer. The more experience you have the more wisdom you have. Listening to your parents will give you the experience that they have gained over the years and you won’t make mistakes in your life because they told you to not do the mistakes that they have seen and experienced.
Lying
Lying is bad for example: If one lies to his parents that he has not done his homework. Then he will fail. Lying to someone that they are good at something when one is actually is bad, then the person will never know that he/she is bad so the person will never improve. If one lies that he is not cheating with his spouse then the divorce that needs to happen will never happen. Truthful words last forever while lies do not.
Proverbs 12:19.Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment."
Follow the commandments and you will have eternal life. One must ask, will it really benefit you to follow God’s word? The answer is that it will bring peace to everyone. No one will get hurt.
