One of my dad’s seminary mates is a preacher by day and a Catholic by night. His reason is that he needs money to support his family.

I don’t remember where I saw this but I do remember that he claimed that he had a friend in the Vatican and he was going to meet with the Pope!!! ???

BIGDAVE= I remember this also I think it was on one of his show he always trying to get new fans and was talking to Cathloics trying to let them see his love for cathloics. Benny Hinn is a very good con man and he also was teaching that the Trinity was 8 people, still dont know how that come up. I think his tv is very funny. he got his start with Jim and Tammy Bakker years ago.====hope you have a good weekend

He stated that used to be Catholic, which is probably true. He did meet with Pope JP2 and I’ve seen the photos.

It always amuses me how ‘dissenting’ leaders of other faiths go to visit the Popes! What’s the point, and of being photographed with the Holy Fathers, if your theology CONTRADICTS what the Pope proclaims?

At least Schuller, of “Hour of Power” fame, ACTUALLY calls The Pope, our Holy Father! (I saw it on one of his programmes)

If you go on youtube and type in Benny Hinn there is a video of him swinging his coat at people and they fall over like bowling pins. It has to be one of the funniest acts you will see. Sadly though people are so desperate for a relationship with God they will believe what “preachers” like Hinn say.

One other observation I have made is this; why do these guys always shout…they are hooked up to microphones with huge speakers!! Idon’t get it

Yes, a good point. I have noticed that too. Why not be catholic if they have catholic beliefs?? Even preachers that are ant-catholic will sometimes quote one of the Saints. My old paster often quoted Mother Teresa!

It is hard for pastors like Robert Schuller to be part of the eccumenical movement in the greater LA area and not be influenced by the Church. Be it out of belief or political motivation, he addresses Church leaders by the norm of the faith. Very respectful. Whatever his theology, he pastors a faithful ecclesial community that is respectful of others and has found a strange niche in the eccumenical community of Los Angeles.
